Welcome to Saturday Smash Doubles 2026, organised by Elite Sports, Miyapur. These terms apply to all participants, teams, and spectators attending the event. By registering for or attending this tournament, you agree to abide by all the rules, conduct standards, and policies outlined here. Failure to comply may result in disqualification without a refund.
Player Guidelines
Do's & Don'ts
Do's
- ✓ Arrive at the venue by 4:00 PM on Saturday, 6 June 2026 for check-in and warm-up.
- ✓ Wear proper sports attire — non-marking court shoes are mandatory on the badminton courts.
- ✓ Complete your UPI payment before the event and share the payment screenshot on WhatsApp for confirmation.
- ✓ Bring a valid government ID (Aadhaar / Driving License) for identity verification at the venue.
- ✓ Respect your opponents, partners, and the umpire at all times. Sportsmanship is expected.
- ✓ Report any match disputes calmly to the tournament coordinator Santhosh immediately.
- ✓ Keep the court area tidy — use the waste bins provided in the venue.
- ✓ Follow court rotation instructions from the officials promptly to keep the schedule on track.
- ✓ Warm up only on designated practice courts — not on match courts unless instructed.
- ✓ Stay hydrated. Water stations are available at the venue. Bring your own bottle if preferred.
Don'ts
- ✕ Do not arrive late. Teams not present at court when their match is called will forfeit the match.
- ✕ Do not use street shoes or heels on the badminton court — it damages the surface and is unsafe.
- ✕ No refunds will be issued once registration is confirmed and payment is received.
- ✕ Do not argue with the umpire or tournament officials. Decisions made on court are final.
- ✕ No alcohol, smoking, or any substances are permitted inside the venue premises.
- ✕ Do not use abusive language, make offensive gestures, or engage in conduct that disrupts the event.
- ✕ Do not bring outside food or beverages onto the court area — café facilities are available.
- ✕ Player substitutions are not allowed mid-tournament. Only registered players may compete.
- ✕ Do not tamper with or misuse court equipment, nets, or shuttlecocks provided by the venue.
- ✕ Do not leave the venue during group stage matches — teams must remain available for back-to-back fixtures.

Tournament Policies
Registration & Payment
- The registration fee is ₹700 per team or ₹350 per single player, paid via UPI to 9035924161-2@ybl.
- Slots are confirmed only after payment verification. Pending-payment teams may be waitlisted.
- The tournament is capped at 16 teams. Registrations close once capacity is reached.
- Entry fees are non-refundable under any circumstances, including player injury or no-show.
- Each team must have exactly 2 players. Solo registrants will be paired — pairing is at the organiser's discretion.
Tournament Format
- 16 teams are divided into 4 groups (A, B, C, D) of 4 teams each.
- Within each group, all teams play each other — a full round-robin of 6 matches per group.
- The top 2 teams from each group advance to the Quarter Finals.
- Quarter Final cross-matchups: A1 vs B2, B1 vs A2, C1 vs D2, D1 vs C2.
- Semi Finals and Grand Final follow standard single-elimination knockout rules.
- Group rankings are determined by: wins → points → set difference → shuttle difference.
- In the event of a tie, a head-to-head result between tied teams will be used.
Match Rules
- All matches follow BWF standard rules unless otherwise stated by the organiser.
- Group stage matches: best of 1 set to 21 points (rally scoring). Knockout matches: best of 3 sets.
- A match is awarded by walkover if the opposing team is absent for more than 5 minutes after being called.
- Service faults, lets, and line calls will be decided by the assigned umpire. The umpire's decision is final.
- Players must not coach each other from outside the court during a point in play.
- The shuttlecocks provided by the venue must be used. Personal shuttles are not permitted unless approved.
Conduct & Disqualification
- The organisers reserve the right to disqualify any team for misconduct, cheating, or rule violations at any point.
- Physical altercations will result in immediate disqualification and may be escalated to local authorities.
- Any form of intentional tanking (losing on purpose) in group stage matches will result in disqualification of both colluding teams.
- Decisions by the tournament director on all disputes are final and binding.
Media & Privacy
- By participating, you consent to being photographed or filmed during the event. Media may be used for promotional purposes.
- Personal data collected during registration (name, phone, email) is used solely for tournament management and will not be shared with third parties.
- Players wishing to opt out of media coverage must notify the organiser in advance.
Liability & Safety
- Participants play at their own risk. The organisers are not liable for any injuries sustained during the event.
- It is each player's responsibility to ensure they are physically fit to compete.
- First aid will be available at the venue. Any medical emergency should be reported to staff immediately.
- The organiser reserves the right to postpone, reschedule, or cancel the event in case of unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, an alternative date will be announced.
Changes to Terms
The organisers may update these terms and conditions at any time. Any significant changes will be communicated via WhatsApp to all registered participants. Continued participation after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
